Downloader GK

I am trying to delete the trojan Downloader GK from my windows xp computer. Started to have problems was recommende to Panda Active Scan, it found and fixed some while my NAV did not but the downloader is still in the system. Panda did not remove it. Panda only indentified it and tried to reccomend their software for purchase. I am wary of all the software applications if the big guys can't find it. Can anyone detail step by step removal. I forgot to mention that is XP Pro w/ svc pack 2 installed
